Patty's parents gave her a childs sewing machine at 9 yrs old and she has not stopped sewing since that Christmas. She designs and makes patterns for garments, dolls, purses and all kinds of paper crafts.

In 1992 Patty began to share her love of sewing with the community by filming sewing segments for Corpus Christi's PBS station. She has filmed at least 3 segments a year since that date which have aired during the stations membership drives. This effort is to help keep sewing programs on the air because Patty knows how valuable and inspiring they are to the sewing community.
